Mid-Cities Creative Problem Solving Organization (Mid-Cities CPSO) was originally incorporated in 1994. In 2001 the name of the organization was changed to Mid-Cities Creative Problem Solving Organization. Mid-Cities CPSO is a corporation organized and operated exclusively for charitable and educational purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code of 1986, as amended. The purpose of the Corporation is to support and benefit Texas Creative Problem Solving Organization, Inc., a Texas nonprofit corporation ("TXCPSO"), the purposes of which are to promote creative problem solving activities for all Texas children through provision of training for coaches and officials and implement a consistent tournament system utilizing problem solving programs as may be selected by TXCPSO, so as to influence the development of a positive self-image, and prepare the students of Texas to apply creative problem-solving skills to life decisions. Mid-Cities CPSO is a subordinate organization of TXCPSO and is subject to the general supervision and control of TXCPSO. Mid-Cities CPSO is governed by a Board of Directors elected by members of the Regional Advisory Board. Members of the Regional Advisory board consists of representatives of school districts, private schools and home school organizations that are eligible under the rules of such national creative problem-solving organization as may be selected by TXCPSO and are actively participating in the program.
