04/08/2004  Three Mid Cities Teams received special Awards at the State Tournament.

 DaVinci Award
Carroll High School Destinations in Time

This team made a remarkably creative elevator/see saw, timing device. They took tremendous risk in choosing such a difficult solution to our problem. The solution allowed for the tasks to be initiated by the moving of the elevator and a ball. WOW! It was amazing, unique & creative. Thank you so much for showing us your talent & workmanship.

Remaissance Award
Bear Creek Intermediate Destinations in Time

Team took a food-mixer with rotational motion, turned this into lateral motion using two different cams, then converted this into forward motion using a very innovative arrangement of legs with one-way skates as feet. All three tasks were initiated by the time machine with only one use of an on-off switch.

DaVinci Award
Martin High School GuessDImate

This DaVinci is given to a team its name sake would be proud to be associated. The team went beyond the limits in presenting their skit. The work and preparation was clearly evident in the art work reproductions of DaVinci. The re-creation of DaVinci's influence on the main character's low self-esteem was a dramatic presentation of how DaVinci probably would like to be remembered in this special award.
